There’s always an occasion for a romantic evening with your loved one. Why don’t you spend it in a restaurant, where the view is awesome, the location is wonderful and the foods are perfect? I collected my favorite romantic restaurants in Budapest.

Spoon - The Boat
If you want something really special, go to the Spoon! It is very unique place to have a dinner (or a first date), because the whole restaurant is on a boat. The best time you can come here is after dark, since the view of the Buda Castle and the Fisherman’s Bastion is very eye-catching! Their menu is quite modern and on special ocassions (like on New Years Eve or on Valentine’s Day) they even have unique menus, so I recommend to take a look before reserve a table.

The whole environment is simply gorgeous! I had my most
romantic dinners here - the food is very delicate, the staff is nice and
attentive, the environment is relaxed and pleasant, the interior design is
immersive, and the view of the hungarian Parliament is the best what you can
get in the whole city.
The food options are quite great as well: you can eat
beef burgers, hungarian dishes and there’s an „all you can eat Sunday Brunch”
as well, what I always very enjoy. If you want to have a table with a view, I
recommend to take a reservation!

Halászbástya Restaurant (Fisherman’s Bastion) is a
perfect place to have a romantic dinner after a sightseeing. It’s right next to
the Hilton Buda Castle, at the left side of the Fisherman’s Bastion.
This restaurant is a very popular place to watch the fireworks
program on August 20 on our national holiday, since it have one of the best views
as well. The view is impressive, the dishes are delicious, and next to the traditional flavors there are an innovation in almost every meal. Love it!

„Quality & Tradition” – this two word perfectly
describe Budapest’s legendary restaurant, what I strongly recommend to everyone!
Gundel is best place if you want to enjoy a traditional Hungarian
meal. The restaurant have a seperate lunch menu and a Sunday Brunch as well, but if you just want to try out typical hungarian foods
(like goulash soup, hortobágyi pancake etc.) this place is perfect for that
also! After dinner, you can have a pleasant stroll at the Városliget park and the
Vajdahunyad Castle or visit the Budapest Zoo next to it, which can be very romantic.

A
little further away from the noise of Budapest downtown, on the Gellért hill
(where the Liberty statue is standing) there is the Búsuló Juhász Restaurant,
where the view is amazing. I’m sure that if you take someone who have a
weakness of beautiful locations, she/he will be pretty amazed. The dishes
are good, quite classic ones, and the whole atmosphere is very romantic.

One
of my favorite restaurants in Budapest, so I just can not leave it from the
list. The restaurant have the best
view for the Danube Corso (and also the Buda Castle and the Fisherman’s Bastion can
be seen).
Those
who love the classical Hungarian flavors will surely enjoy the place what have
a small, sunny terrace in the spring and summer; the walls of the restaurant
are decorated with pictures of Klimt, so the whole atmosphere is very special,
especially that there’s live music almost every evening. The food is otherwise heavenly by the way and
the desserts are amazing (especially the Gundel pancake with walnut filling and
chocolate layer on it - that's my favourite dessert). I highly recommend it to everyone who like good food!
